A novel brake system pressure buildup unit comprises an electronic control unit (ECU), a control motor, a deceleration mechanism, a brake master cylinder, solenoid valves, hydraulic pressure sensors and brake wheel cylinders. The ECU is connected with the control motor, to output a signal to enable the control motor to generate the required torque after a brake requirement is obtained, to drive the deceleration mechanism to push a master cylinder push rod to build up pressure in a brake piping; the hydraulic pressure sensors are connected with the brake wheel cylinders, so that fluid pressure in the brake wheel cylinders is detected in real time and fed back to the ECU. A novel wheel cylinder hydraulic pressure control method comprises the steps that the ECU determines the braking intention of a driver or the control requirement of an ESC; the system judges whether the braking working condition is a conventional working condition or an emergency working condition; the system judges whether the braking working condition is completed. By applying the brake system pressure buildup unit and the wheel cylinder hydraulic pressure control method, on the basis of fulfilling the basic function of building up pressure, the size is small, the weight is light, and the functions of an ABS and the ESC and the like are fulfilled in a manner of controlling the solenoid valves through a control algorithm. The brake system pressure buildup unit and the wheel cylinder hydraulic pressure control method have the characteristics of high precision and fast response.
