The invention discloses a hub motor-based electric automobile omni-directional steering system. The system comprises a central control system, a frame, a steering wheel and left front, right front, left rear and right rear wheels of the frame, and is characterized in that the frame is connected with a hub motor through a suspension seat which is fixedly arranged on a hub motor stator, wherein a rotor of the hub motor is fixedly connected with hubs of the wheels and is provided with a brake pad with brake calipers; the wheels all cooperate to finish steering motion through an independent steering mechanism and a linkage steering mechanism connected with the suspension seat. The electric vehicle using the omni-directional steering system can realize zero radius steering and cross running, the steering flexibility of the vehicle is good, the operation such as parking is easier, and the energy and the urban parking space are saved.
