Provided is a stopping control device for a vehicle, that, during idle stop, is capable of reliably preventing movement of a stopped vehicle by reliably increasing vehicle braking force. The stopping control device uses power supplied from a battery (7) and cranks (step 8 in fig.5) an internal combustion engine by using a starter motor (6), if restart conditions have been fulfilled during idle stop. In addition, the stopping control device is driven by power supplied from the battery (7) and comprises a hydraulic pump (55) for increasing the braking force of the vehicle (V). While the vehicle (V) is stopped, the hydraulic pump (55) is caused to operate if a determination has been made (F-_BFREQ=1) that increased braking force is required for the vehicle (V). Furthermore, if restart conditions have been fulfilled during operation of the hydraulic pump (55), cranking is prohibited and operation of the hydraulic pump (55) is continued (steps 6-9 in fig.5).
