The invention discloses a braking torque detecting method and system of a crane brake. The braking torque detecting method comprises the following steps: S101, determining that a brake to be tested is in a braking state, and meanwhile, turning on another brake on a transmission chain to ensure that the another brake is in a non-braking state; S102, setting testing torque; S103, setting a current limit value output by a frequency converter; S104, setting a testing speed of a motor, wherein the testing speed is 3-8 percent of a rated speed of the motor; S105, sending a starting instruction to the frequency converter from a main controller, and starting a torque testing process, wherein the frequency converter tries to drive the motor to rotate to reach a set testing speed, and the frequency converter increases the output current, so that the torque at the output end of the motor is increased gradually; and S106, judging and processing. The braking torque detecting method has the advantage that a user automatically, simply and rapidly detects the crane brake in a case in which an original crane electrical control system is not required to be reconstructed, and provides a guarantee for safety running of a crane.
