Provided is an elevator running control method. According to a value of a speed reducing distance S and the sum of floor height deviations stored at a previous time, of floors covered by a current-time speed reducing distance, an elevator is lagged for a certain lag distance at a constant-speed stage and then is switched to a speed reducing stage. A numerical value of the lag distance is equal to the sum of the floor height deviations stored at the previous time, of the floors covered by the current-time speed reducing distance. The floor height deviations (data stored by the elevator running at a previous time) are compensated at the elevator constant-speed stage before the speed reducing stage, the influence of the floor height deviations can be effectively reduced, the detection accuracy of the elevator position and the aiming floor accuracy of the elevator can be improved, and the possibility that the elevator rushes up or down can be greatly reduced. The invention further discloses an elevator running control system.
