A bearing device (1) for a wheel equipped with: an outer member (2) on the inner circumference of which multiple rows of outside raceway surfaces (7, 7) are formed; an inner member (11), which comprises a hub ring (3) provided with a wheel attachment flange (8) and at least one inner ring (4) that fits with a small-diameter step part (10) formed on the outer circumference of the hub ring (3), and on which multiple rows of inside raceway surfaces (9, 9) are formed opposing the outside raceway surfaces (7, 7); and multiple rolling bodies (5, 5) incorporated between the outside raceway surfaces (7, 7) and the inside raceway surfaces (9, 9). In addition, the inner ring (4) is immobilized in the axial direction by means of swage parts (17) formed by plastically deforming the end parts (26) of the small-diameter step part (10) of the hub ring (3) outward in the radial direction, and face splines (18) are formed on the end faces of the swage parts (17) by means of plastic forming. This bearing device is characterized in that the relationship S/M<=alpha*beta is satisfied when M is the average diameter of the outer diameter (B) and the inner diameter (C) of the end parts (26) of the small-diameter step part (10) prior to the formation of the swage parts (17) of the hub ring (3), S is the outer diameter of the face splines (18), alpha is the value when the ductile elongation of the material of the hub ring (3) is expressed as a ratio, and beta is a correction coefficient that is based on the working form.
