The invention discloses a magnetorheological torsion damper and an automotive seat with the same. The magnetorheological torsion damper comprises a cylinder body and a rotary shaft, wherein a containing cavity is arranged in the cylinder body, the rotary shaft stretches out of the containing cavity and is in running fit and sealing with the cylinder body, and the longitudinal section of the containing cavity is round. The magnetorheological torsion damper further comprises an internal cavity frame, an arc-shaped piston and an least one group of electromagnetic coils, wherein the internal cavity frame, the arc-shaped piston and the electromagnetic coils are all arranged in the containing cavity, the internal cavity frame is in the shape of an arc which is concentric with the inner wall of the cylinder body, one end of the internal cavity frame extends outwards in the radial direction to form a connecting part fixedly connected to the cylinder body, one end of the arc-shaped piston is connected with the rotary shaft and can rotate along with the rotary shaft, the other end of the arc-shaped piston is arranged between the internal cavity frame and the inner wall of the cylinder body in the mode that the end can rotate in the circumferential direction along with the rotary shaft, a sub-cavity I and a sub-cavity II are formed by the arc-shaped piston, the internal cavity frame and the cylinder body, radial gaps which can be communicated with the sub-cavity I and the sub-cavity II are arranged between the two sides, in the radial direction, of the arc-shaped piston and the internal cavity frame and between the two sides, in the radial direction, of the arc-shaped piston and the inner wall of the cylinder body in the circumferential direction, and the electromagnetic coils are wound on the arc-shaped piston in the radial direction. The magnetorheological torsion damper is compact in structure, large toque which can be used for restraining vibration can be output under the condition that the vibration torsion angle is limited, and the magnetorheological torsion damper is suitable for the occasions, such as the automotive seat, a suspension and a clutch, with small torsion angles.
