The invention provides a rear axle assembly. The rear axle assembly comprises a shaft pipe, a first brake and a second brake. The first brake and the second brake are connected with the first end and the second end of the shaft pipe through a first mounting unit and a second mounting unit respectively, and the first brake and the second brake are connected to rear wheel assemblies on the two sides of a car respectively. On the one hand, the structural arrangement that a motor is arranged on a rear shaft is achieved in order to fully reserve the arrangement space of a power battery; on the other hand, a power output wire of a speed reducer is arranged in the width direction of the car, and the power is transmitted to wheels through a left half shaft and a right half shaft.
