An aircraft window (10) has improved transparency from two layers (12,14) of different types of glass and electromagnetic radiation shielding from a thin layer (18) of indium tin oxide between the two layers of glass. The thin layer of indium tin oxide provides the required shielding without appreciably adding to the window weight or detracting from the enhanced transparency of the two layers of glass.
