The invention provides an underground intelligent traffic light control system comprising a locomotive locating and traffic light controller, a network switch, locomotive locators, integrated substations, and a traffic light LED screen. The locomotive locating and traffic light controller is connected to the network switch, and is used for acquiring position information of the locomotive locators sent by the integrated substations and sending control information to the traffic light LED screen. Each locomotive locator is installed on a locomotive, has a unique identification number, periodically sends out broadcast packets, and conducts precise locating together with the integrated substation in the signal coverage range.
