The invention discloses a multimode multi-gear hybrid power system which comprises a driving motor, an engine, a gearbox body, a middle shaft arranged in the gearbox body, an output shaft, two input shafts and at least two clutch transmission units, wherein the driving motor and the engine are arranged on the same side of the gearbox body; the output shaft is arranged on the other side; the driving motor is connected to one input shaft; the engine is connected to the other input shaft via a clutch; the two input shafts are in coaxial rotational connection via a bearing; separation and combination between the two input shafts are achieved by an input shaft synchronizer; the two input shafts are connected to the middle shaft via the clutch transmission units; and the middle shaft drives the output shaft via gear engagement. The system has the characteristics of good dynamic property and high cost performance, is simple in structure and low in maintenance cost, and is better applicable to electric vehicles such as coaches or trucks with compact radial spaces and rich axial spaces for power systems and differential mechanisms for drive axles.
