The invention discloses an urban intelligent public transportation system, which comprises a plurality of vehicle-mounted infrared transmission devices, a plurality of intelligent electronic public transportation stop boards and a plurality of infrared receiving devices; each vehicle-mounted infrared transmission device comprises a singlechip, a first power supply battery, a first data memory, a first clock circuit and an infrared transmitter; each intelligent electronic public transportation stop board comprises a public transportation stop board body and an electronic receiving and transmission display device arranged on the public transportation stop board body, the electronic receiving and transmission display device comprises an ARM7 microprocessor, a second power supply battery, a second data memory, a wireless transceiver, an infrared recognizer, a second clock circuit and a liquid crystal display screen; the wireless transceiver mainly comprises a wireless data transmission module SRWF-508; the infrared receiving devices are infrared receivers, and the infrared receivers are connected with the signal input ends of the infrared recognizers. The urban intelligent public transportation system is structurally simple, is convenient to use and operate, can save the waiting time of people, ensures that people can optimize travel routes to the max, and is convenient to popularize for use.
