A vehicle converse-running monitoring system comprises inductive coils with unique numbers, wherein the inductive coils are buried in a road and arranged vertical to the road. Each group includes three inductive coils which are arranged at an interval of 1m, and the spacing between every two adjacent groups is 100m. The output of each group of inductive coils is connected to a processor, and the processor determines the driving direction according to the parameter variables sensed by the coils. When converse running is determined, an alarm arranged at the road side is started to give a prompt. The vehicle converse-running monitoring system of the invention can automatically determine the behavior of converse running, raises the alarm timely to notify a driver, and uses a camera to obtain evidence which can be used by penalties later.
