A hybrid electric vehicle using the solar energy comprises a vehicle body, solar cell flexible panels, a power storage device, an electromotor and a control device, wherein the solar cell flexible panels are positioned at the top of the vehicle body, the front hood and the rear hood; the power storage device is positioned at the tail of the vehicle body; the electromotor is positioned below the tail of the vehicle body; the control device is positioned in a cab at the front row of the vehicle body; the solar cell flexible panels are connected with the power storage device; the electromotor is connected with the power storage device; and an engine is arranged on one side of a front wheel. According to the invention, a vehicle power system is changed by simply modifying the existing fuel-powered vehicle or gas-powered vehicle, the vehicle is not only driven to run by the engine singly in a fuel-powered manner, but also driven to run by electricity and solar energy, in climbing, the vehicle can be driven to run by the engine, solar energy and electricity simultaneously, solar power generation is realized, fuel can also be recovered for charge during running, the hybrid electric vehicle is easy to operate, safe and environment-friendly, carbon emissions are greatly reduced, the living standard of people is improved, and thus the hybrid electric vehicle is truly environment-friendly, energy-saving and practical.
