The invention discloses a vehicle air conditioning system and a method for removing dust and mold from the vehicle air conditioning system. The vehicle air conditioning system comprises an air supply pipeline with an air inlet and an air outlet, wherein air entering the air supply pipeline from the air inlet can be refrigerated or heated therein to provide corresponding cold air or hot air into a carriage of a vehicle through the air outlet; the air outlet of the air supply pipeline comprises a first air outlet, a second air outlet and a valve component, wherein the first air outlet is opened towards the inside of the carriage of the vehicle; the second air outlet is opened towards the outside of the carriage; the valve component is used for selectively closing and opening the first air outlet and the second air outlet. The vehicle air conditioning system provided by the invention can remove dust and mold therein before an air conditioner is turned on, so that the air blown out from the air conditioner is guaranteed to be clean and the comfort of the inside of the carriage is improved.
