The invention discloses a vehicle detecting device for a traffic signal lamp control system at a road junction, and particularly relates to a device for detecting running conditions of vehicles on roads. The vehicle detecting device comprises vehicular high-frequency signal transmitting receivers 1 and a road high-frequency signal receiving transmitter 2. The vehicular high-frequency signal transmitting receivers 1 are arranged on vehicles, and the road high-frequency signal receiving transmitter 2 is arranged at the junction. The vehicle detecting device has the advantages that vehicle information outputted by the road high-frequency signal receiving transmitter can be transmitted to a road traffic signal lamp controller, and traffic can be directed by traffic signal lamps under the control of the road traffic signal lamp controller; requirements of the vehicular high-frequency signal transmitting receivers and the road high-frequency signal receiving transmitter on antennas can be lowered by the aid of the vehicle detecting device.
