The invention relates to a novel auxiliary wheel return rail of an escalator. The novel auxiliary wheel return rail comprises a first support forming a working face, and a connecting rack for connecting the first support with a mounting plate, wherein the working face is horizontal, the connecting rack is provided with a notch part extending along the length direction of the connecting rack, the notch part is located above the working face, and the connecting end face where the notch part is located is vertical to the working face. By the arrangement, the novel auxiliary wheel return rail has the advantages that the extending distance of the novel auxiliary wheel return rail which needs to be mounted on a mounting plate is shortened, and safety accidents caused by the fact that an extending section cannot bear load are prevented; meanwhile, an operator can horizontal view the mounting operation, convenience in mounting is achieved, falling objects are reduced, and potential safety hazard is reduced; in addition, the novel auxiliary wheel return rail is low in material consumption and low in cost.
