The invention discloses a method for installing a guide rail in a lift shaft. The guide rail comprises multiple guide rail segments which are in butt joint one by one in the vertical direction from the bottom of the shaft. The method comprises the following installation steps that a, one guide rail segment is fixed to a predetermined position of the bottom of the shaft; b, the next guide rail segment is hoisted to the position above the previous well-fixed guide rail segment through a traction device, and the lower end face of the next guide rail segment is in butt joint with the upper end face of the previous well-fixed guide rail segment; c, the butt joint position of the next guide rail segment and the previous well-fixed guide rail segment is adjusted; d, the other guide rail segments are installed according to the step a, the step b and the step c cyclically till the predetermined height in the lift shaft is reached. By means of the method for installing the guide rail in the lift shaft, the installation quality of the guide rail can be improved, the guide rail segments can be protected, and the abrasion deformation degree among the guide rail segments can be lowered; as a result, the service life is prolonged, and the working efficiency of overhaul and adjustment later is improved.
