Disclosed is an automatic alarm system of a tramcar intersection crossing. The automatic alarm system comprises a detector (2) for detecting passing of a tramcar (1), a PLC (3) and an alarm system body (4), the detector (2), the PLC (3) and the alarm system body (4) are arranged on the two sides of a tram rail (5) in front of the coming tramcar (1) of the intersection crossing, the detector (2) and the PLC (3) are in signal connection, and the alarm system body (4) is electrically connected with the PLC (3). According to the automatic alarm system and alarm method of the tramcar intersection crossing, the problem that potential safety hazards exist in the tramcar intersection crossing is solved through pre-triggering and delayed alarming, the work pressure of the transport agency and traffic police is relieved, and consumption of manpower and material resources is reduced.
