The invention discloses a high-voltage discharge system of an electric vehicle. The high-voltage discharge system comprises a motor, an inverter, a high-voltage battery, a high-voltage relay, a high-voltage capacitor, a high-voltage discharge resistor and a controller; the direct current ends of the inverter are connected to the high-voltage battery through the high-voltage relay, and the alternating current end of the inverter is connected to the three-phase alternating current port of the motor; the high-voltage capacitor and the high-voltage discharge resistor are connected in parallel between the two direct current ends of the inverter; after receiving an active discharge request signal, the controller controls the inverter to perform active discharge to the high-voltage capacitor; active discharge diagnosis timing is started, the inverter stops active discharge if the voltage between the two ends of the high-voltage capacitor is less than or equal to the safety discharge threshold voltage within a first duration after the start; the inverter stops active discharge and an active discharge overtime fault signal of the inverter is outputted if the voltage between the two ends of the high-voltage capacitor is greater than the safety discharge threshold voltage after the first duration after the start. The high-voltage discharge system of the electric vehicle performs high-voltage discharge safely and reliably.
