The invention relates to a traffic signal release system and method based on the wireless local area network. The method comprises the followings steps: obtaining a traffic control signal or generating a traffic sign signal, assembling, encrypting, wirelessly releasing the signal, and decrypting and displaying the signal after the signal is received by a terminal. The traffic signal release system based on the wireless local area network comprises a traffic signal source and a terminal processing device. The system is simple and practical, and easy to build, realizing of orderly regular traffic without vision blind areas and sight obstruction during driving is facilitated, the system and the method can be used for quickly building a warning sign in sudden traffic accident or temporary construction sections, high portability, high release efficiency and long distance are achieved, a warning effect is obvious, the blank of traffic signal release is filled, and voice prompt is realized when a person does not concentrate on driving, so that accidents are greatly reduced, and traffic safety is effectively guaranteed. Traffic signal information is transported in an asymmetric encryption mode, so that high safety and reliability are achieved, and traffic disturbance caused by the fact that other persons release fake information is effectively eliminated.
