The invention discloses a vehicle model identifier with a shock absorber and a position-adjustable light curtain sensor. The height of the light curtain sensor can be adaptively adjusted according to the height of a mounting base body by using the vehicle model identifier, and the vehicle model identifier can widely adapt to various terrains; moreover, a trapezoidal base is arranged at the bottom of a shell on which the light curtain sensor is mounted, and a rubber gasket is arranged inside the trapezoidal base, so that vibration caused by running of a large-sized heavy vehicle is reduced favorably, and the light curtain sensor can reliably and stably work; meanwhile, a bulged circular truncated cone is arranged on an upper bottom plate, the contact area between a supporting rod and the base is increased, and the supporting strength of the supporting rod is improved favorably.
