The invention discloses a skip-type reentry vehicle overload protection method which comprises the following steps of: (1), judging a current flight phase according a Phase Flag recorded by a vehicle-mounted computer, if a skip-type reentry vehicle is in a secondary reentry phase, executing a follow-up overload protection function, otherwise, finishing; (2), judging whether the overload protection function is activated or not, if the overload protection function is activated, executing follow-up judgment, otherwise, turning to the step (5); (3), judging whether overload protection is started according to an overload protection start threshold D1 and executing the corresponding protection function; (4), judging whether overload protection is terminated or not according to a overload protection termination threshold D2, and terminating the corresponding protection function; (5), judging whether to automatically activate an overload protection function according to an overload protection function activation threshold D3. According to a secondary reentry phase overload protection method designed by the invention, reasonable protection thresholds are designed, so that the maximal axial overload of the reentry vehicle is effectively restrained to be within an allowable range.
