The invention relates to a fuzzy-control-based method for monitoring the wheel diameter of a train on line. According to the method, a wireless transmitter and a wireless receiver are arranged on the outer side and the inner side of a wheel respectively to acquire detection data. The method specifically comprises the steps that (1) the wireless receiver receives data sent by the wireless transmitter, acquires the receiving frequency of the data and encodes the data, and then a switch forwards the data to a fuzzy controller at the rear end; (2) the fuzzy controller processes received information by adopting a Mamdani type inference engine, acquires a membership function and stores the data; (3) a comparator judges whether the wheel diameter of the train is in a critical state or reaches scrap conditions according to the membership function; (4) if the wheel diameter of the train is in the critical state or reaches the scrap conditions, an alarm is given. Compared with the prior art, the fuzzy-control-based method for monitoring the wheel diameter of the train on line has the advantages that by the point-to-point on-line monitoring of the outer diameter of the wheel, a central control system can be informed in time when the abrasion of the wheel reaches a scrapped critical value state, the wheel of the train is inspected or directly replaced, false reporting of an accident is avoided, and the running safety of the train is improved.
