The invention discloses a system and a method for identifying pavement information through noise. The method comprises the following steps: directionally collecting the noise generated by the friction between tires of an automobile and the ground to obtain a noise signal in the running process of the automobile; converting the collected noise signal into a frequency spectrum; comparing the frequency spectrum with a pre-stored road condition model to obtain a pavement identification result; feeding back the obtained pavement identification result to a center control system owned by the automobile. A noise identification module is additionally arranged on a chassis of the automobile, the noise generated by the friction between the tires of the automobile and the ground is collected, then the collected noise is converted into the frequency spectrum, the frequency spectrum is analyzed to obtain pavement information, and the pavement information is fed back to the center control system of the automobile finally, so that a driver can clearly master the detailed situation of a pavement on which the automobile runs and can identify the current pavement information by utilizing the noise generated by the friction between the tires and the ground. Compared with a conventional identification policy, the method has higher accuracy rate and lower cost.
