The invention discloses a telescopic windshield wiper which is characterized in that the blade can stretch up and down. A shell is of a long slotted structure formed with an opening facing downwards; a control box is connected at the top of the shell and a connecting groove is formed in the right end of the control box. An electromagnet is arranged in the control box; a sliding base is arranged in the shell; a plurality of telescopic grooves which are inclined in a left-right direction are formed in the sliding base; a connecting rod is vertically connected at the upper end of the sliding base; a blade is connected at the lower end of the sliding base; and the sliding base is connected to the push-pull rod of the electromagnet by virtue of the connecting rod. A plurality of limiting shafts are respectively inserted in the various telescopic grooves on the sliding base, and the front and rear shaft heads of the various limiting shafts are respectively connected to the front and rear end faces of the shell. The electromagnet is electrically connected to a control power; and the windshield wiper is connected to a driving rocker by virtue of the connecting groove. In use, the electromagnet can be used for driving the sliding base to move towards left lower part by virtue of the connecting rod; when the lower edge of the blade extends out of the lower edge of the shell, the windshield wiper can run normally. When the windshield wiper stops working, the electromagnet is used for driving the sliding base to move towards right upper part by virtue of the connecting rod until the blade is released from the contact with window glass.
