The invention relates to a propelling system. The propelling system comprises a traction device, a boost converter, an energy type power supply, a power type power supply and an energy management system, wherein the boost converter comprises a high-voltage side and a low-voltage side; the traction device is connected to the high-voltage side of the boost converter; the energy type power supply is connected to the low-voltage side of the boost converter; the power type power supply is connected to the low-voltage side of the boost converter; the energy management system is connected with the boost converter, and is used for controlling the energy type power supply and the power type power supply to work in a driving mode through the boost converter under the following at least two conditions: when the needed power of the traction device is lower than the threshold power, the energy management system controls the energy type power supply to provide the power to the traction device; and when the needed power of the traction device is higher than the threshold power, the energy management system controls the energy type power supply and the power type power supply to provide the power to the traction device.
