The invention provides a WIFI (Wireless Fidelity) type automobile starting control method. The method comprises the steps that a mobile terminal receives a request of starting an automobile; the mobile terminal acquires a first position coordinate and a second position coordinate, wherein a first locator arranged in an automobile acquires the first position coordinate through a satellite locating technique, and a second locator in the mobile terminal adopts a satellite locating technology to obtain the second position coordinate; the mobile terminal determines that the first position coordinate is identical to the second position coordinate; the mobile terminal transmits an instruction of starting the vehicle to a controller of the automobile through a WIFI connector prebuilt, and the instruction is used for controlling the doors of the automobile to be opened or closed and allowing ignition. The invention further provides a mobile terminal. According to the technical scheme provided by the embodiment of the invention, the no-key start of the automobile can be realized by the mobile terminal taken by a user, and an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Devices) chip cannot be needed by the user, therefore the user feels more convenient.
