Provided is a novel highway navigation system based on RFID and a navigation method thereof; the system comprises RFID readers which are stored at the highway access management stations and provided for navigated vehicles entering the highway to carry and use, a plurality of static electronic tags which are arranged nearby each junction of the highway, and computers responsible for managing all driving routes and recording arrangement information of the electronic tags which are deployed on each road. The method comprises the following steps: obtaining, by a navigated user at the entrance, a RFID reader which is marked with corresponding route information; starting the RFID reader, so that the RFID reader starts working; the electronic tag transmitting a response signal after receiving a query signal of the RFID reader; decoding the RFID reader to obtain ID identification information of the electronic tag, and matching the ID identification information; playing corresponding voice prompt information based on the matching result. The novel highway navigation system based on RFID is not limited to the district, and not limited to the RFID scene; the novel highway navigation system based on RFID is applicable to all navigation requirements which are able to finish automatic identification of district marking.
