The invention relates to the technical field of elevators and discloses a star-connection protection method and a star-connection protection device. According to the star-connection protection method, in case of an elevator fault, a first PWM star-connection protection waveform for controlling on and off of the IGBT of the upper bridge arm of a frequency converter driver module is obtained, and the IGBT of the upper bridge arm is in an off state under the control of the first PWM star-connection protection waveform; a second PWM star-connection protection waveform for controlling on and off of the IGBT of the lower bridge arm of the frequency converter driver module is obtained, and the IGBT of the lower bridge arm is in the on or off state under the control of the second PWM star-connection protection waveform; the first PWM star-connection protection waveform is output to the upper bridge arm of the frequency converter driver module, while the second PWM star-connection protection waveform is output to the lower bridge arm of the frequency converter driver module. The star-connection protection method has the advantages that steady deceleration of an elevator is realized and the problem of causing secondary harm on passengers due to instantaneous deceleration is avoided.
