The invention relates to the field of elevators, in particular to a design method of a falling prevention unit for an elevator. According to the design method of the falling prevention unit for the elevator, provided by the invention, the falling prevention unit comprises brackets and a guide rail, and is characterized by further comprising a first gear, a second gear, a roller, a trigger unit, a connecting rod, an elastic recovery piece and a supporting shaft, wherein the trigger unit is mounted on the brackets; the roller and the first gear are mounted on the brackets in a freely rotatable manner through the supporting shaft; the guide rail is arranged between the first gear and the roller; the first gear is meshed with the tooth surface of the guide rail; the roller is in rolling fit with the polished surface of the guide rail; the second gear revolves around the first gear through the connecting rod, and the first gear and the second gear are meshed with each other; the connecting rod is provided with a trigger hole in plugging fit with the trigger end of the trigger unit. When the trigger end exits from the trigger hole, the second gear is meshed with the guide rail by virtue of the elasticity action of the elastic recovery piece, the degree of freedom of the mechanism is 0, the elevator cannot run up and down, and therefore falling prevention of the elevator can be realized.
