The invention provides an off-duty illumination circuit of an electric locomotive; the off-duty illumination circuit comprises an off-duty illumination button, an off-duty illumination button indicator light, a delay relay and an illuminating lamp; the off-duty illumination button is arranged near the entrance door of the driver's cab of the electric locomotive, connected with a 110V power source of the electric locomotive and the delay relay and used for automatically delaying (e.g., the delay is set to be 10 minutes) to turn off the illuminating lamp of the driver's cab after a driver and a conductor get off work and leave the locomotive; the off-duty illumination button indicator light is used for setting the off-duty illumination button and connected with the 110V power source of the electric locomotive and is convenient for the driver and the conductor to conveniently and accurately find out the off-duty illumination button in the dark; the delay relay is arranged on a driver's control console of the electric locomotive and connected with the off-duty illumination button and delays for a certain time (e.g., the delay is set to be 10 minutes) to automatically switch off after the off-duty illumination button is pressed down; and the illuminating lamp is arranged in the driver's cab of the electric locomotive, connected with the delay relay and used for illuminating the driver's cab.
