A method of performing a processing operation on a first pipe and a second pipe includes attaching a grapple attachment to an arm of construction equipment, the grapple attachment being configured to simultaneously grab the first pipe and the second pipe. The method further includes simultaneously grabbing the first pipe and the second pipe using the grapple attachment and positioning an end of the first pipe and an end of the second pipe adjacent to one another using the grapple attachment, using an automatic guidance system on the grapple attachment to determine a position of one or both of the first pipe and the second pipe, using the position to adjust at least one of the first pipe and the second pipe using the grapple attachment until the end of the first pipe is aligned with the end of the second pipe.
