A method that uses mobile phone and sensors to autonomously monitor the personal safety for the driver and passengers is disclosed. Voice distress calls, automobile collision, fire, driver abnormal vital signs can be detected by the mobile phone and hence connects the protected persons to assistance available and most nearby. The mobile phone accompanies the protected person and it is always on and doesn't require human interaction. The solution includes a mobile device for processing sensor data and connecting to assistance, and multiple sensors for monitoring different type of inputs such as sound, accelerator, OBD interface, heart-beat sensor, etc.
