Systems and methods to improve performance, reliability, learning and safety and thereby enhance autonomy of vehicles. Human sensors are used to capture human eye movement, hearing, hand grip and contact area, and foot positions. Event signatures corresponding to human actions and responses are extracted from these sensors and correlated to events/situations acquired using vehicle and outside environment sensors. Signatures obtained from events and different scenarios are classified and stored as raw data and embeddings. Event signatures are used to train vehicles to improve their autonomous capabilities, or in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Vehicles are operated in real and virtual/camera worlds by humans as well as software. Also disclosed are systems and methods to adjust field of view during obstructions, collecting, storing, retrieving and using historical data, combining camera and LIDAR data, aspects related to driver alertness and attention, scoring and improving driver performance.
