Abstract This invention is an apparatus and method for drag reduction and planetary albedo cooling enhancement for a nautical vessel. The device generates augmented air bubbles and funnels them to the base of the hull to reduce friction. In addition to reducing hull friction and thereby improving fuel efficiency, the apparatus increases ocean albedo reflection by whitening and extending the life of the ship's wake (Marine Sea Whitening- MSW) and disperses sea salt aerosols into the atmosphere to increase marine cloud albedo reflection (Marine Cloud Brightening - MCB). Microbubbles can also have the benefit of reducing biofouling of a ship's hull. Rather than utilising an air compressor or other external energy source, the air bubbles are produced by the apparatus from the movement of the vessel.
