Provided is a railroad wheel in which a boss part has excellent toughness. The railroad wheel according to the present disclosure comprises: a rim part; a boss part having a through hole; and a plate part. The chemical composition of the railroad wheel includes, in mass%, more than 0.80% but at most 1.35% of C, at most 1.00% of Si, 0.10-1.50% of Mo, 0-0.050% of P, 0-0.030% of S, and at most 0.0200% of N, the balance being Fe and impurities. In a cross-section of the boss part taken along a plane including the central axis in the central axis direction of the through hole, when 15 mm x 15 mm regions defined by a plurality of axial line segments which are parallel to the central axis and arranged at a pitch of 15 mm in the radial direction of the railroad wheel from the inner circumferential surface of the through hole, and by a plurality of radial line segments which are perpendicular to the central axis and arranged at a pitch of 15 mm in the central axis direction from the surface of the boss part where the opening of the through hole is formed, are defined as rectangular regions, the average C concentration of the rectangular regions in the cross-section of the boss part is not more than 1.40 mass%.
