The disclosed seat cover is designed and constructed to fit any seat and contains one or more accelerometers. The seat cover is constructed from material suitable for the application of the seat and of suitable thickness to allow embedded accelerometers not to be detectable by the user under normal operation (unless a requirement for the accelerometers to be visually and / or physically detectable by the user exists). Accelerometers may be communicated to and powered by cabling / wires which are also embedded within the seat cover material and may follow the same forementioned requirements for user detection. Wireless means of communicating to and powering (battery) accelerometers may also be used depending on the seat application. The seat cover may consist of a single piece, or be constructed in several pieces to suitably cover the seat, where one or more accelerometers are contained within any of the seat cover parts as required for the seat application. Accelerometers may be placed within the seat cover to measure acceleration / force / vibration of the seat at the cushion (Figure 1-1), the backrest (Figure 1-2), the headrest (Figure 1-3), or at any other part of the seat as required by the seat application. The seat cover is designed and constructed in a manner where it can be removed from a seat so the seat can be maintained / replaced, and refitted to the seat or replacement seat.
