Patent Title: TOT Based Smart Monitoring System for Preventive Maintenance of Electric Vehicles Our invention "IOT based smart monitoring system for preventive maintenance of electric vehicles" is an automatic IoT based Monitoring System for Preventive Maintenance of Electric Vehicles consisting microprocessor / microcontroller based embedded monitoring unit contained in water and dust resistant and shock proof container for deployment in electric vehicle for condition monitoring of three vital units of electrical vehicle namely battery, BLDC motors and electronic / electrical circuits. The invented system is contained in box that can easily be deployed on the chassis of electrical vehicle. The invented system has four separate subunits to monitor, display the health status of electrical vehicle (EV) as per the condition of monitored units of electrical vehicle. The invented system has current sensor, voltage sensor and over / under charging sensor to monitor the status of battery bank. Invented system also has several sets of acoustic sensors, vibration sensor, temperature sensor, current sensor, voltage sensor deployed at suitable places near BLDC motors to monitor any malfunction or faulty condition. The invented system has set of current sensors which are deployed in series with electrical / electronic circuit. Voltage sensor deployed in parallel to critical components or electrical / electronic circuits of electrical vehicle and an overload sensor to monitor overload condition of electrical vehicle. The three major states monitored in electrical / electronic circuits are short circuit, open circuit and overload. The sensor sends the signal to the electronic monitoring unit for processing. The electronic monitoring unit consist of a microprocessor/microcontroller with embedded program to monitor the operations of invented system. The invented system has four subunits for monitoring conditions of the electrical vehicle. The four subunits include EV battery monitoring subsystem, EV electronic / electrical circuit monitoring subsystem, EV BLDC motor condition monitoring subsystem and EV display on dashboard and user smartphone subsystem. The invented system has a power converter system which is connected to the battery of electrical vehicle and is used to convert voltage of electrical vehicle battery to the levels suitable for the invented system. The system consists of microcontroller / microprocessor with an embedded program to poll the sensors for obtaining monitoring data and analyze it. The system has electronic monitoring unit which is connected with an IoT gateway to transmit the EV monitoring data through wireless technology on the smartphone of the owner of electrical vehicle. The owner of the electrical vehicle can also plan or carryout preventive maintenance to avoid complete failure or breakdown of the electric vehicle.
