A system for smart traffic management of emergency vehicle, the system comprising a registration module connected to the system for registering the details of the emergency vehicle, wherein a registration ID is created for each vehicle, a plurality of infrared sensors connected to each of a plurality of traffic light present on lanes for measuring the traffic in a particular lane, a controlling unit for identifying the empty lane to change the color of the lights based on the availability of traffic, a communication module for establishing connection between the emergency vehicle and the system, wherein the emergency vehicle is detected and allotted a lane for reaching a destination with minimum traffic congestion, and a first location tracking module for tracking the real time location of the emergency vehicle, wherein the location and status of the traffic light along with the location of the vehicle is analyzed. 102 DATABASE REGISTRATION CONTROLLING COMMUNIC VEHCL VEHICLE INFRARED MODULE 104 MODULE 110 registering the details of the emergency vehicle using a registration module connected to the system, wherein a registration ID is created for each vehicle and the necessary parameters are stored in a 202 database measuring the traffic in a particular lane using a plurality of infrared sensors, wherein each of a 204 plurality of sensors are connected to traffic light present on lanes identifying the lane with minimum vehicle or no vehicle using a controlling unit interconnected to each of the plurality of infrared sensor and traffic light, wherein the controlling unit sends command signals to the traffic light to change the color of the lights based on the availability of traffic 206 establishing connection between the emergency vehicle and the system using a communication module connected to the controlling unit, wherein the emergency vehicle is detected and allotted a 208 lane for reaching a destination with minimum traffic congestion tracking the real time location of the emergency vehicle using a first location tracking module connected to the communication module, wherein the location and status of the traffic light along 210 with the location of the vehicle is analyzed for a particular lane
