The invention relates to a test stand for testing bogies of rail vehicles, comprising a load impact unit (100) for generating a linear force acting on a bogie to be tested. The load impact unit (100) comprises a hydraulic cylinder (110) having a piston rod (114). The hydraulic cylinder (110) is a double-acting cylinder, the cylinder chambers of which are subjected to hydraulic fluid by a bidirectional axial piston pump (140). The test stand further comprises a transmission device (120) for transmitting the force acting on the bogie, wherein the transmission device (120) is operatively connected to an end of the piston rod (114).
