A hitch lock comprises two bodies which come together around a trailer hitch and are then secured together with a lock to make the hitch unusable. An upper body includes inwardly facing hooks that can accept the ends of trailer safety chains whilst the lock is removed. Once fitted, the lock blocks the mouths of the hooks thus retaining the chain ends on the hooks making them impossible to remove.
