A problem with existing buckles on a curtain-sided vehicle is that of slippage, whereby the straps are known to slip slowly to the point where they lose tension and become unserviceable, as a result of road vibration, vibration caused due to passing air, or other in-use factors. Existing buckles also tend to lose their 'set position' every time they are opened, and so require re-adjustment on every time they are closed. According to the present invention, there is provided a buckle suitable for use on a curtain of a curtain sided freight vehicle (including road and rail vehicles), or container. The buckle includes a buckle body and a latch hingedly mounted to the body. The latch is hingedly moveable relative to the buckle body about a latch axis between a closed position and an open position. The buckle further includes a strap feed path extending through the buckle body and latch. The strap feed path is provided for receiving a strap in a manner allowing a portion of the strap to be tensioned between the buckle and an object when the latch is in the closed position. The buckle also includes a strap clamp for clamping the strap. :101 2(42
