The invention relates to a railway braking system (1) comprising a braking device (2) provided with a body (7), a single piston (8) that can move with respect to said body to act on a brake linkage (5), and delimiting, together with said body, a pressure chamber (17) supplied by a pressure medium source (55, 7) for placing said piston in a rest position where said linkage applies no force on a braking member (6) of a railway vehicle, first and second seals (28, 30) housed between a first section (21) of said piston and said body, and third and fourth seals (32, 34) housed between a second section (22) of said piston and said body; said first and third seals being configured to form a primary sealing of said pressure chamber and said second and fourth seals being configured to form a secondary sealing of said pressure chamber.
