VERTICALLY INTEGRATED STRINGERS Apparatus and methods provide for the reinforcement of various components of an aircraft (100) utilizing vertically-oriented circumferential stringers. According to embodiments described herein, barrel skin of an aircraft fuselage (102) may be reinforced using stringers (112) that are vertically-oriented and circumferential. According to additional embodiments, the wing stringers (114, 116) of a wing (108a, 108b) can be aligned with circumferential stringers (112). According to further embodiments, the wing (508) may also have one or more wing spars (610a, 610b, 612a, 612b) having an elliptical aperture (614a, 614b, 616a, 616b). The shape of the elliptical aperture may be configured for attachment to a fuselage (102) so that an outer surface of the aperture is disposed proximate to an inner surface of the fuselage (102). >( C-1
