Abstract In a machine (10) having an electro-hydraulic brake valve (54), issues in providing a desired brake pressure may be determined by comparing an 5 actual brake output pressure of the brake valve (54) to an acceptable brake pressure range for an output brake command current provided to the brake valve (54) to generate the desired brake pressure. Where the actual brake output pressure is outside the acceptable brake pressure range, the brake pressure difference and time-rate-of-change of the brake pressure may be used to 10 determine a weighted brake pressure difference that is accumulated over a series of sample cycles and compared to an integration limit to determine whether the operator should be warned of the brake pressure difference. The integration limit may be based on a factor indicative of the responsiveness of the machine (10), such as the oil temperature. r---- 18 - 48 24 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ I.----50 40__ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 42 --- ~----- T- 4---- 54 L - 56 52 Braking Device Braking Signal 54 Brake 24 Command Current Electro ~* Hydraulic Brake Valve Oil Temperature Signal Control Brake Unit Pressure Unit 58 Brake Output Pressure Oil Brake Sensor Temperature Pressure Sensor Signal
