AIRCRAFT manufacturer, Deutsche Airbus has placed a contract worth £1.8 million with Industrial Acoustics Company (IAC) of Staines, U.K., for a new aero engine test facility. The German company has ordered a special ground run-up pen capable of testing all of its Airbus series aircraft. The run-up pen will be used to carry out full flight system checks and, more importantly, allow Deutsche Airbus to fly newly-built A321 aircraft out of its Hamburg base for the first time.
