THE Microcell glass fibre rocket launcher originated to a Government specification which was aimed at accommodating the 2-in. rocket armament currently used for air-to-air and air-to-ground applications. The Company pursued a design philosophy which made the launchers suitable for a variety of military aircraft and as a result they have the necessary flexibility to be readily adapted for use with aircraft other than the Hawker Hunter, de Havilland Sea Vixen and English Electric Lightning on which they have been installed.
