Performance Calculations for Oleo-Pneumatic Shock Absorber Struts Various types of oleo-pneumatic shock absorbers are shown diagrammatically in Fig. 19. The equations of motion for each type are of similar form, but differing in detail, and the equations for each type are deduced separately. The equations are not directly soluble and a step by step integration process is used with successive approximations for each step. Although the method may appear laborious at first sight, the complete analysis of a shock absorber can be made in about three hours after some experience in the method.
