DURING the war the Air Ministry established a number of large schools all over the country to provide technical instruction for R.A.F. personnel and these have fulfilled their purpose admirably. Excellent though they are, however, it was generally recognized that they could not be expected to be able to give such detailed and up-to-date instruction on any particular product as could the manufacturers themselves. It was, therefore, agreed that the ideal arrangement would be that certain firms should form their own schools in conjunction with the Air Ministry and that these schools should supplement the more general forms of technical instruction provided by the service establishments with the more specialized and up-to-date information concerning their products.
